It Could Have Been Worse

Q. is always very concerned about hearing or saying bad words. She frequently asks, "Mom is ___ a bad word?" Yesterday I took G. to the Dr. and as we were waiting she asked if "darn" was a bad word. I told her it wasn't a really bad one, but I didn't want her to use it. After I finished telling her this she looked at me and said, "Mom, it could have been worse."
